SnapTik Twitter
Paste an X or Twitter post link to list its videos, photos and GIFs.
What people mean by SnapTik Twitter
If you typed SnapTik Twitter into Google, you probably know the routine already. You copy a video link, paste it into a box, and get a file back. You want that same routine for posts on X.
SnapTik describes itself on its homepage as a TikTok video downloader. It saves TikTok videos without a watermark and handles TikTok videos, slideshows and photos as MP4 files or images. It is built around TikTok links, so an X post link is not what it is designed for.
SnapTwitter does the same copy-and-paste job for X. You paste a post link, and the page lists the video's available resolutions as MP4 files. If the post has photos or GIFs, those show up in the list too.
How to download an X video the SnapTik way
- 1
Open the post on X in the app or in a browser and tap the share icon, then choose Copy link. The link looks like x.com/username/status/ID or twitter.com/username/status/ID, and both forms work.
- 2
Come back to this page and paste the link into the box at the top.
- 3
Wait for the list of files. Each video appears in the resolutions X has for it, and any photos or GIFs in the post appear below.
- 4
Pick the resolution you want and save the MP4 to your phone or computer. Repeat for any other file in the post.
What carries over from the SnapTik habit
The core idea stays the same. You never install anything, and you never sign in. You copy a link from the app, paste it into a web page, and choose a file to keep.
The share menu is where you start on both platforms. On X, the share icon under a post gives you Copy link. That one link is all SnapTwitter needs to find the media in the post.
If you are used to saving TikTok clips as MP4, the result will feel familiar. X videos come out as MP4 files too, so they play in the default video player on most phones and computers.
What is different on X
There is no watermark step. A big part of the SnapTik pitch is removing the TikTok watermark. X videos are served without a platform watermark, so there is nothing to strip. What you save is the video as X delivers it.
You often get a choice of quality. X keeps several resolutions of the same video, and SnapTwitter lists each one it finds. Pick a higher resolution for a sharper picture, or a lower one if you want a smaller file.
One post can hold more than a video. A post on X can mix videos, photos and GIFs. SnapTwitter shows every item in the post, so you can save the photo next to the clip without a second tool. GIFs from a post are listed as short MP4 clips, the same way the Twitter GIF Downloader saves them.
Protected accounts work differently. Videos in protected posts are visible only to the account's followers, according to the X Help Center. A public link tool cannot see them, so SnapTwitter only works with posts from public accounts.
Does X have its own download button
Sometimes. The X Help Center explains that Premium subscribers can download videos from certain posts. You open the video, tap the three-dot icon, and tap Download video.
That option has limits. It works only for videos uploaded on or after 25 July 2023, and only if the uploader left Allow video to be downloaded switched on. Older videos, posts where the setting is off, and accounts without Premium do not get the button.
Video length also depends on the uploader's account. X says non-Premium accounts can upload videos up to 140 seconds with a maximum file size of 512 MB, while Premium subscribers can upload up to 4 hours at 1080p, up to 16 GB. Longer videos mean larger files, so check your storage before saving one.
